Site work, renovation and addition to a water / sewer project in Mount Gilead, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the addition of a water / sewer project; for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

Project will be let under one Contract with construction including building addition and upgrades to the existing Main Water Treatment Plant Building and modifications/upgrades to treatment process at the Water Treatment Plant (WTP). The modifications/upgrades in the project include the following major work items at the Montgomery County WTP. Main WTP Building Addition and Renovation. a. Replacement of floor, wall, and ceiling finishes throughout the existing main Water Treatment Plant building. b. Replacement of mechanical systems, ductwork, diffusers, and registers. c. Replacement of existing light fixtures with energy-efficient LED fixtures. d. A new bituminous roof will replace the entire existing roof; additional thermal insulation will be added underneath the new roof surface. e. Restrooms will be renovated in order to be ADA compliant. f. A new 400 SF entry Lobby will serve a new modular elevator which will provide access to all floors of the facility. g. A County back-up 911 center will be provided inside the building with appropriate electrical and communications provisions. h. An existing Storage room will be converted to the County's IT server room to include related electrical and mechanical provisions. 2 Treatment Process Improvements a. Chlorination System. Convert existing gas chlorination system to to a liquid sodium hypochlorite chlorination system. (1) Removal of the existing gas chlorination system as shown on the Drawings (2) New sodium hypochlorite bulk storage tank and chemical transfer pumps in a containment area enclosed in metal building (3) Conversion of existing chlorine room to new sodium hypochlorite feed room with new chemical day tank with weigh scale, two new chemical metering pump skids (to feed chemical at three locations), and associated chemical piping and valves. b. Ammonia Feed System. (1) Add new Aqua Ammonia chemical feed system with injection into the finished water main after the High Service Pumps. (2) Three (3) Aqua Ammonia storage totes, transfer Caddy Pump, new chemical metering pump skid, and associated chemical piping and valves housed in a new Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic building on a concrete pad. c. Sedimentation Basin Sludge Removal System. Add new traveling suction type sludge removal system to each of the existing three (3) sedimentation basins. Sludge will discharge via automated valves to discharge channel. Bid Security in the amount of five (5) percent of the Bid must accompany each Bid and shall be subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all Bids. Unless all Bids are rejected, Award will be made to the lowest responsible Bidder, taking into consideration quality, performance and the time specified in the proposals for the performance of the Contract.
