Electrical Engineering Consultant Services for Electrical System/Arc Flash Study Berkeley Clean Energy Campus As a part of the BCEC project, an electrical system study is required for the campus power distribution system to assess the overall safe operation of the systems when many utilities such as heating and cooling have been converted to electrical systems. The added electrical base loads will increase overall electrical power loads and must operate within a safe limit of all the electrical power equipment. The university is planning some major changes to the overall power distribution system. The University Regents approved a budget and financing for Phase 1. The Phase 1 scope would construct the EHCP, build out the thermal distribution to approximately half the campus currently served by steam, convert associated buildings, install infrastructure for DERs, and construct various enabling works. The project is currently in the Schematic Design phase for Phase 1 of the project. Construction of phase 1 is anticipated to start late 2025 - early 2026 and complete/commission in 2028/2029. Questions concerning the RFQ are due no later than 2:00p.m. Pacific Time on 11/20/2024. The University reserves the right to recommend changes and approve subconsultants to the Electrical Engineering Consultant. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
