Reference Number 0000282527 Question Acceptance Deadline 2024/12/09 11:59:00 PM CST The existing facility, Portage District General Hospital (PDGH), is a regional health centre owned by Southern Health Sante Sud (SHSS) located in the community of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba which is approximately 84.9km from Winnipeg, MB. -After a thorough review with stakeholders and analysis of existing infrastructure a recommendation was made to and approved by Manitoba Health to proceed with a new build development on a greenfield/brownfield site, within the city of Portage la Prairic. The existing hospital is 9,750 m2, 88 inpatient beds over 2 floors, with 1 public elevator, 2 patient/Service elevator, limited same day surgery OR and Recovery areas, Lab and Imaging suites, emergency department with heliport and ambulance garage, ambulatory care clinics, in house food services (kitchen) and Laundry. There is Material Management and shipping receiving area that is at ground level. The Facility will be decommissioned for demolition once all services have shifted to the new building. Decommissioning scope is not part of this contract. The new hospital, Portage Regional Health Centre (PRHC), is located on a portion of land which is adjacent to the existing hospital site. It is two stories, approximately 25,557 m2 and will include 114 inpatient beds and will function as an A-2 health care facility servicing the City of Portage la Prairie as well as the broader surrounding rural and First Nation communities. The following services will be provided in the new hospital; 1st Floor: • Emergency Department, including 14 treatment rooms, 2 resuscitation/trauma rooms, 2 secure holding rooms and a 3-bay attached ambulance garage. Within the ED there are treatment rooms specific to gynecology, bariatric & airborne isolation, casting and low acuity treatment rooms, 1 EKG and Phlebotomy station. Adjacent to the ED is a 6-bed Special Care unit and 6 beds for Observation. • Diagnostic Services, including imaging suites (1 existing CT, 1 new General Rad room and 1 new Fluoroscopy room, 3 Ultra sound, 2 Stress test and 1 EKG testing. There is a full chemistry lab with a 4 chair Phlebotomy outpatient area. • Outpatient clinics, including Mental Health and Addictions, Cancer Care (7 treatment spots), Renal Dialysis (12 treatment spots), Physiotherapy, Speech and Audiology Rehabilitation, and Ambulatory Care Clinic (ACC) with 2 ENT procedure rooms, 12 exam/ treatment areas for surgery, IV and wound care. Hospital support services, including material management with 3 loading dock area, facility management workshop/offices and outbuilding, environmental services/laundry, staff lockers and lounge area. • Public support services include café and commercial kitchen, Foundation Services, Health Information Services, Financial Office and Conference and training rooms. 2nd Floor: • Surgical Services, including 3 OR's, 2 Endoscopy procedure rooms, 21 Pre and Post- Operative beds • 6 Labour delivery Post Partem (LDRP) rooms, including triage/assessment and infant resuscitation room. • Inpatient units designed as single patient rooms, 19 Surgical beds, 6 Palliative care beds, 24 Rehab beds and 53 Medicine. Each inpatient unit has a dedicated bariatric/airborne isolation room, medicine preparation room, clean supply, soiled utility room, tub room, equipment room and family visiting room. • Support services include Administrative Offices, Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR), Pharmacy, Inpatient Rehab Services, Physician Lounge, 3 On Call rooms. • Public support services include Indigenous Cultural Center, family quiet and family visiting rooms. Most major equipment in the building will be new, either supplied and installed by the Construction Manager (CM), or supplied direct by the Owner and installed under the CM contract. Similarly, much of the small, loose furniture and clinical equipment will be new. Major items of note are listed below; this list is not comprehensive but reflects current design and planning to date.
