Greenfield Community Energy & Technology (DBA GCET) in collaboration with The City of Greenfield is building out their fiber distribution layer to support a fixed wireless internet access in the Northern Section of Greenfield. This IFB requests the bidder, also referred to as "construction contractor", to provide installation of fiber optic cable, for Greenfield Community Energy & Technology (GCET), a Municipal Light Plant located in the City of Greenfield, Massachusetts for GCET's Fiber Backbone. It is estimated that the pathway, ride out, or route spans a total of [37,627] feet across all phases, with [50,689] feet of fiber cable to be installed. The [13,062] foot difference in fiber cable accounts for slack and splice storage along the installation. A detailed breakdown is reflected in the technical specification. The Bid Security from the Contractor in the form of cash, certified check, treasurer's check, or Cashier's check, drawn upon a responsible bank in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or a Bid Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid shall be made payable to the City of Greenfield, Massachusetts and shall be enclosed with the bid. A Payment Bond in the amount of 50% of the awarded contract will be required of the successful bidder. The Contract/Bid awarding authority is: City of Greenfield/GCET, 324 Main Street, Greenfield, Massachusetts 01301. Questions must be submitted on or before Tuesday, November 26th by 2:00PM. Answers will be emailed to all known bidders and posted as an addendum on the city website on Monday, December 2nd by 2:00 PM. The responsible and responsive bidder offering the lowest price shall be awarded the project, subject to the availability of funding. The City of Greenfield/GCET reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in the bidding.
