Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for a residential development in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; for site work for a one-story above grade residential development; and for asbestos abatement for a residential development.
The work consists of the demolition of a derelict single story structure at 46 Severance Street, Greenfield, MA and disposal of the entire structure as asbestos-containing material under an Alternative Work Plan (AWP) approved through the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and related work. The Bid Security from the Contractor in the form of cash, certified check, treasurer's check, or cashier's check, drawn upon a responsible bank in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or a bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid shall be made payable to the City of Greenfield, Massachusetts and shall be enclosed with the bid. A Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond in the full amount of the contract, will be required of the successful bidder. Attention is called to the following: A. Bids for this project are subject to the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended. B. Wages are subject to Massachusetts minimum wage rates as per M.G.L. Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27H inclusive, and federal minimum wage rates pursuant to the Davis-Bacon Act, whichever pays more. C. All pertinent regulations ordinances and statutes of the City of Greenfield, the State of Massachusetts, and the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development will be rigidly enforced. D. The successful bidder must comply with Chapter 151B as amended, of the Massachusetts General Laws and with the provisions of Executive Order No. 74, as amended by Executive Order No. 116 dated May 1, 1975 pertaining to Equal Opportunity Anti-Discrimination and Affirmative Action. It also includes filling in the existing septic system. Sealed Proposals addressed to the Department of Planning and Development, 14 Court Square, Greenfield, Massachusetts and endorsed "Proposal for IFB 25-13, Asbestos Abatement and Demolition of 46 Severance Street" will be accepted by the Department of Planning and Development on the second floor of 20 Sanderson Street. Bids will be accepted at which time said bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in the second floor meeting room at 20 Sanderson Street. Question Deadline 01/30/2025
