Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in West Haven, Connecticut. Conceptual plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The City of West Haven, in partnership with the Land Trust of West Haven, invites professionals with ecological restoration and resiliency expertise and experience sourcing, planting, and maintaining NATIVE shoreline plants to help us create the West Haven Eco Park. The project will restore 1.5 coastal acres of highly trafficked public shoreline adjacent to the boardwalk to a native plant-based coastal ecosystem by removing invasive plants and planting more than 16,000 native trees, shrubs, and perennials. Maintaining the park for two years through watering, weeding, and removing and replanting dead plants is required. This project is being partially funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) which has additional requirements to comply with Federal Government guidelines. Other funding will be from a Federal Grant. The scope of work encompasses the creation of West Haven Eco Park based on the existing conditions documented in the GEI Plan developed for the project that identifies specific native plants and their specific placement. A TOPO Survey will also be provided. This RFP will outline general and specific requirements for all aspects of site preparation, landscaping, and ongoing maintenance. The contractor selected will be responsible for adhering to all City, state, and federal guidelines, ensuring environmental protections, and engaging in sustainable practices throughout the project's duration. Permits are not required for this project. This RFP does not obligate the City to award a contract or to pay any cost incurred in the preparation or submission of proposals.
