Bidders eligible to submit Bids for this Request for Tenders have been previously selected through the process of a Request for Prequalifications, issued under Contract C14-05-24, which closed on Friday, January 17, 2025. The scope of work consists of but is not limited to the following: General: 1. Work in compliance with all municipal, provincial, and federal acts, laws, regulations, by-laws, and guidelines; 2. Drainage of reservoir to sanitary sewer adjacent to the reservoir as per Contract Documents; 3. Collection and treatment of water drained from reservoir. The water is to be treated to separate and collect the solid materials from the water, with the remainder being treated to the standards required to comply with the City of Hamilton's Sanitary Sewer Use By-law. The Contractor will be responsible for testing the water on a regular basis to ensure compliance with the by-law. Coating material removed from inside the reservoir (separated/collected as part of the treatment process) is to be disposed of by the Contractor, following all legal requirements (e.g., transportation, storage, disposal, tracking, approvals). 4. Preserve, protect, and prevent to the extent possible any and all damage to trees adjacent to the work. Discharging the treated water removed from the reservoir will require the Contractor to supply and install a temporary pipe through a heavily wooded area from the reservoir to nearest sanitary maintenance hole as per Contract Documents. 5. Removal of coatings within both cells (upon confirmation and direction by the Consultant after both cells have been drained); 6. Concrete/joint repair/crack injection in areas identified by the Consultant within the reservoir; 7. Application of a protective coating, appropriate for a water environment, on walls, floors of the reservoir, and on columns identified by the Consultant; 8. Disinfection of both reservoir cells as for the City of Hamilton disinfection requirements and protocols as per the Contract Documents; 9. Ensure safe operation and staging of all work activities, equipment, and machinery operation in the vicinity of the trail, and reservoir interior/exterior; 10. Cleanup and reservoir ventilation if required; 11. Restoration, grading, and landscaping for any damage made under the Contract during construction. The value of this project is estimated to be between $2M and $3M.
