Reference Number 0000283868 Question Acceptance Deadline 2025/01/06 03:30:00 PM EST The Work of the Contract includes clearing of trees and vegetation along both sides of Cemetery Road and Landfill Road. Scope of Work The Work under these items shall be in accordance with OPSS 201 and the following provisions for the locations indicated elsewhere in the Contract Documents. Flagging of Clearing Limits Prior to starting any clearing operations, the Contractor shall clearly mark out the limits of clearing as identified in the Contract Drawings. Marking may be accomplished either by spray painting select trees to be cleared, or by use of flagging tape. The limits shall be clearly visible. Management on Non-Harvestable Wood Open burning of non-harvestable wood is not permitted under this contract. Non-harvestable natural wood debris from any clearing operation shall be the property of the contractor. The Contractor has two possible alternatives for disposal; 1) Shred/chip/mulch and cast such natural wood debris uniformly within the right-of-way, under the direction of the Contract Administrator, and in accordance with Table 2 of OPSS 180. Stockpiles of the shredded, chipped or mulched material will not be permitted within the right-of-way. 2) Haul and stockpile such natural wood debris at the Michipicoten First Nation Landfill, located 1.6 km North of Cemetery Road via Landfil Road. Specific locations will be identified by the Contract Administrator. Management of Harvestable Wood Trees measuring 150 mm or more in diameter, measured 1.0 m above ground, shall be cut into lengths not exceeding 3.0 m, limbed and neatly stacked at the Michipicoten First Nation Landfill, located 1.6 km North of Cemetery Road via Landfill Road. Specific locations will be identified by the Contract Administrator. Basis of Payment Payment at the contract price for the above tender item shall be full compensation for all labour, Equipment, material, permits and approvals required to do the work. Scope of Work The work under this item shall be in accordance with OPSS 706 and the following provisions. Protection of Public Traffic and Workers The Contractor shall coordinate all traffic control operations in accordance with the most current version of the Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM), Book 7 - Temporary Conditions. The Contractor shall remove any equipment or material which, in the opinion of the Contract Administrator, constitutes a traffic hazard. The Contractor shall provide temporary fencing around potential hazardous construction zone(s) as a protective barrier to the general public during the life of the Contract. Fencing shall be set up prior to commencement of any operations and removed upon completion of the operation. All necessary traffic control devices such as signs, barricades, delineators, lanterns, and flashing lights shall be supplied and erected in accordance with the Ontario Traffic Manual - Temporary Conditions Book 7. The Contractor shall be responsible for all traffic control and shall supply and properly place all signs required to maintain traffic control. Basis of Payment Payment at the contract price for the above tender item shall be full compensation for all labour, Equipment, material, permits and approvals required to do the work. Each Tenderer shall include a tender deposit in the form of a Bid Bond payable to Michipicoten First Nation in the amount of 10% of the bid price. Bid Bonds shall be submitted on CCDC Form 220. Tender deposits shall be returned to unsuccessful Tenderers within a reasonable time after the consideration and award of the Contract has elapsed. The tender deposit of the successful Tenderer shall be exchanged for the Performance Bond for 100% of the total value of the work and a Labour and Materials Payment Bond for 50% of the total value of the work, upon the award of the Contract. Should the successful Tenderer fail to enter into a Contract with the Owner or fail to produce the required Performance and Labour and Materials Payment Bonds within 14 days of the date of acceptance of the Tender, or to start work as directed, the tender deposit will be forfeited to the Owner.
