Bids are requested for the installation of rip rap (various sizes) at the Southwest corner of Zinfandel Bridge (at Napa River). 1" crushed lava rocks and up to 1 ton size rock will be needed for the installation of the rip rap. Willow planting will also be needed to complete the repair. This section of the road will be closed during daylight hours for up to 5 working days and contractor can stage equipment at the site. Contractor will be allowed to work double shifts and weekends. The Contractor shall possess a Class "A" license at the time of contract award. Engineer's Estimate for Base Bid: $250,000 Riprap shall be installed adjacent to the Napa River to allow for excavation of a key in competent material (as shown on the plans or as identified by County) needed to support a rock embankment. Up to 1 ton rock will be needed for the construction of the slope. Willow planting and 6-inch diameter PVC pipe willbe needed to complete the repair. Crushed rock will fill the approximately 30 foot long by 4-foot sink hole between the wall and the edge of pavement in order to complete the repair. The riprap will provide lateral stability to the existing 30 feet long reinforced concrete retaining wall. The riprap is on a 1:1 slope keyed into the ground approximately 3 feet. The riprap shall be placed approximately 12 feet high against the wall. The 4-foot-high gap under the wall will be filled with rockfor approximately 30 feet. The construction is anticipated to begin on January 22, 2025 to be completed in February of 2025.
