PURPOSE: The purpose of this Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to establish a contract with a qualified vendor to remove and dispose of six (6) HVAC units which are beyond their useful life and to furnish and install six (6) new and unused HVAC units according to solicitation documents. Occoneechee State Park lies within Mecklenburg County in Virginia. The Park borders the Kerr Reservoir locally referred to as Buggs Island Lake. The units to be installed are located within the cabin area. Cabins provide overnight stay opportunities for visitors to relax and enjoy our natural resources. Replacement units will be installed in Cabins #1, 5, 7, 10, 12 and the Park Linen building. SCOPE OF WORK AND SPECIFICATIONS: The contractor shall provide all materials, labor, equipment, and supervision necessary to remove existing HVAC systems and provide, install and render operational new systems which meet or exceed the specifications listed herein. All materials and installation work shall comply with these specifications, and conform to the Virginia OSHA Standard, and the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Codes. Work is to be completed Monday-Friday and coordinated with the Park Representative. Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid meeting is REQUIRED prior to bidding in this program. The successful bidder shall be experienced in all aspects of HVAC replacements and shall have adequate labor and equipment for the scope of this projects and be able to complete the work within the forty-five (45) calendar days allotted. Should significant weather affect the successful bidders ability to complete the work, consideration will be given to extend the time.
