The City is proposing to install smoke/heat detectors, fire alarm control panels and notification devices at its five vacuum pump stations. Detectors shall be placed in the electrical control rooms and above the vacuum pump skids at each location. The devices shall interface with a fire alarm control panel provided with cellular communications for notifications to City and emergency services. Strobes and horns shall be provided at the entrances to each vacuum station to provide local warnings to notify workers of the hazard. The successful bidder shall be responsible for ensuring proper design and installation of the fire alarm systems and for compliance with all current codes and will be responsible for running any auxiliary electrical runs that may be needed to complete the work. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive informalities, except timely submission of proposals, in any proposals received, to re-advertise for proposals or to take any other such actions that may be deemed in the best interests of the City. As a matter of information to Bidders, the City does not bind itself to accept the minimum specifications stated herein, but reserves the right to accept any proposal, which in the judgment of the City Council will best serve the needs and interests of the City.
