Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Adel, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a laboratory facility; for site work for a laboratory facility; office development; office development; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; 4,400-square-foot water / sewer project; and water / sewer project.
Furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials for the construction of the WWTP Laboratory and Administration Building. This consists of site paving and utilities improvements; 4,400 SF building inclusive of garage space, office space, kitchen, and restroom facilities; building electrical, plumbing, and HVAC; and all other work as required by the contract documents. The work shall be performed at 2994 Old Portland Rd, Adel, IA 50003. Doc note - Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office by paying a deposit of $150 for each set. Bidders who return full sets of the Bidding Documents in reuseable condition within 14 days after the award of the contract will receive a full refund. Non-Bidders, and Bidders who obtain more than one set of the Bidding Documents, will receive a refund of the deposited amount for documents returned in reuseable condition within the time limit indicated above. Make deposit checks for Bidding Documents payable to McClure Engineering Company. All bids must be filed in the office of the City Clerk before the time herein set on forms furnished by the Owner and must be enclosed in a separate sealed envelope and plainly identified. Each bid shall be accompanied by bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, and in the amount of 5% of the total amount of the bid, asspecified in the Bidding Documents, assecurity that if awarded a contract, the bidder will enter into a contract at the prices bid and furnish the required performance and payment bonds and Certificate of Insurance. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds acceptable to the Owner on forms provided in the specifications in amounts equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Work on the improvement shall commence within 30 days after the Effective Date of the Contract, or on the day indicated in the Notice to Proceed. The Notice to Proceed will be issued upon approval of the contract and bonds by the City Council. The work shall be substantially completed on or before August 29, 2025, and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions on or before October 31, 2025. Failure to meet either the Substantial Completion date or Final Completion date will result in the assessment of liquidated damages in the amount of $1,000.00 per calendar day. The Owner hereby reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and irregularities, and to enter into such contract or contracts as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
