Middle School Window Replacement Phase 2 - New Work package Summary Project Description 1. Hixson Middle School - Window Replacement Phase 2 New Work Package a. Hixson Middle School window replacement is being accomplished under two separate bid packages which will overlap each other over the summer of 2025 while school is out of session. b. An asbestos abatement/demo package (not a part of the Window Replacement Phase 2 New Work Package) will perform all the asbestos abatement, associated interior demolition finishes (flooring, ceilings, lights) and removal of the existing windows. c. Window Replacement Phase 2 New Work Package herein will install the new replacement windows and new interior finishes (flooring, ceilings, lights) removed by the abatement/demo contractor. d. The abatement/demolition will sequence and perform their work a section at a time. A section will consist of one lower-level classroom and the corresponding second floor classroom above. The new work contractor will follow behind installing the new replacement windows, finishes (flooring, ceilings, lights) with an initial lag of approximately two weeks. This will allow the abatement/demolition contractor to achieve the required safety and air quality clearance testing for that section before the new work contractor can safely proceed with their work in that section. B. Contract Terms: Lump sum (fixed price, stipulated sum). Clarifications requested by bidders must be in writing by the end of day Friday January 17, 2025.
