Interior and Exterior Painting at Broadway Pier Port Pavilion In the public interest, the Port reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to waive any informality in a bid. It is the policy of the Port of San Diego that certified Small Business Enterprises (SBEs) shall have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of District Contracts. Certified SBEs with qualifying experience are encouraged to respond to the request for bids Award of the contract, if made, will be within 120 calendar days after bid opening date. A bid guarantee in accordance with Subsection 5.6.2 of the General Condition is required with submission of a bid. No Bidder may withdraw a bid after the date set for bid opening. License Requirements C-33 Lic. Required Liquidated Damages $500.00/$1,500 per Calendar Day; See Technical Specifications Sec. 01 11 00 1.5 B for further information. Estimated Bid Value $500,000.00 Start/Delivery Date April 2025 Project Duration 120 Calendar Days Scope of Services In accordance with Contract Documents, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supplies, transportation, and disposal as necessary to complete the construction of Interior and Exterior Painting at Broadway Pier Port Pavilion, San Diego, CA. 2. Separate bid schedules have been provided to separate the work between the Exterior Painting of Exposed Structural Steel (BASE BID SCHEDULE A), Interior Painting of Baggage Area (ADDITIVE BID SCHEDULE B), Interior Painting of PAX Waiting Area (ADDITIVE BID SCHEDULE C), Interior Painting of PAX Ticketing Area (ADDITIVE BID SCHEDULE D), and Exterior Painting of Non-Structural Elements (ADDITIVE BID SCHEDULE E). 3. The work shall include, but not limited to the following as shown on the Plans EM-2024-01 and described in these Specifications 2024-03 of the San Diego Unified Port District. a. Overall preparation of all existing painted areas, including cleaning corroded areas, cleaning substances from surfaces that may impair bonding of coatings, and washing surface of entire exterior structure. b. Temporary removal, secure storage, and reinstallation of fixtures, hardware, covers, and other items as necessary to achieve complete and unobstructed painting access. c. Protection of adjacent surfaces, equipment, and areas not designated for painting using masking, tarping, or other containment methods. d. Painting of exterior and interior structures as directed by the Engineer, including but not limited to: 1) Exposed steel framing, metal deck soffit, pipes, conduit, unistrut, interior and exterior restrooms, exterior steel fascia trim, exposed steel framing, gypsum board walls, ceiling, doors, door frames, railings, galvalume panels, louvers, and stair treads. e. Replacement of existing rubber wall base with new rubber wall base (Bid Schedule B, C, and D). 2 of 4 f. Inspect paint layers on structural steel members, to identify if intumescent coating was applied, the type of intumescent coating applied, and find products compatible with those in the painting schedule. Replace intumescent material if disturbed. g. Ensure all work areas are left in a clean and professional condition following the completion of the project. 4. Contractor is responsible to protect all the existing utilities in place. Contractor shall repair any damages caused by construction at its own cost and expense. 5. It is intended that the Work be completed in every respect under the Contract Document, and such items or details not mentioned above or not included in the Bid Schedule that are required by the Contract Documents shall be furnished, performed, placed, constructed, or installed by the Contractor.
