The work is to extend the UNM Chilled Water system to provide cooling for a new building and add capability for future expansion of the system. The work is to be provided in accordance with UNM standards, Project Plans and Specs. and this Scope of Work. The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals from qualified, bonded entities to manage the installation of an extension of the Chilled Water system in accordance with the Proposal Documents. This RFP is designed to provide interested proposers with sufficient basic information to submit proposals meeting minimum requirements, but is not intended to limit a proposer's content or exclude any relevant or essential data. Proposers are at liberty and are encouraged to expand upon the specifications after meeting specified requirements to evidence value-engineering capability under the proposal. UNM views utilization of local vendors, suppliers and contractors as a good, sustainable practice. As such, UNM strongly encourages offerors to solicit and consider local New Mexico Business community members in preparing proposal offers. It is the intent of the UNM to apply sustainable development concepts in the planning,design, construction, environmental management, operation, maintenance and disposal of facilities and infrastructure projects, consistent with applicable laws and budget requirements. In carrying out this intent. The work must conform with normal UNM Terms and Conditions as well as all state and local regulations. Work will be inspected by a qualified third party and can be deemed unacceptable based on workmanship and adherence to the plans and specifications. A Pre-proposal conference will be held to determine the most current site conditions and safety concerns. Wage Decision will be in effect. Proposals will only be accepted from qualified contractors who have previous experience with the installation of mechanical utilities. All proposals will require proof of previous mechanical utilities projects done by the proposer and the names and qualification of the electricians that will be performing the work. UNM reserves the right to refuse all proposals. Scope of Services: UNM Utility Services Department is seeking proposals for the work as delineated in the Bridgers & Paxton Plans and Specifications. The work is to be completed between May 19 and August 15, 2025. Any outages must be coordinated with UNM Utility Services. Required outages must be done during off hours (evening/weekends)
