U-46 Kimball Renovation and Addition Bid Release 1 Gilbane Building Company, Construction Manager, for and acting on behalf Elgin District U-46 is receiving lump sum proposal forms from interested contractors for the Earthwork, Site Utilities, and Geothermal Wells. The New Elgin Middle School is approximately 190,000sf and is a new construction building out of the ground. School will consist of full classroom, administration, support areas, cafeteria, gymnasiums, and learning stairs. School is to be constructed of masonry and steel with full finishes on the interior to provide a long-lasting place for education. New building will provide an excellent place for learning, extra curriculars, and a competitive environment for generations to come. A full site development will occur with site utilities, storm trap under new parking lot, access roads and bus turnarounds, outdoor learning areas, as well as beautification to the grounds with new landscaping. Site upgrades will also include new sidewalks to the school property together with the surrounding neighborhood, will connect properties with neighboring Hilltop Elementary, and new entrance to school with bus turnaround.
