Project Description o Background o Scope of Work o Bid Options o This project will replace current Corrugated Metal Pipes that are failing and lining two adjacent pipes. o This will be open excavating across Federal on the south side of Belleview. o Full road closure of Federal south of Belleview will be required. The city would like to re-open the west side (south-bound Federal) as soon as practical, and the contractor will be able to stage in northbound Federal lanes. o There is heavy traffic traveling southbound on Federal before hitting Belleview. Traffic control is a large component of this project; traffic control must be closely monitored. o Therefore, it's recommended bidders have a traffic division or outsource traffic control if need be. o The contractor will need to complete a full check of traffic control at least once per day. o There's currently a bit of street degradation. o The contractor will need to obtain right-of-way permits from CDOT for traffic control. o The contractor will also need to coordinate with City of Englewood, whose jurisdiction is on the north side of Belleview. o This project will result in a large detour using Prince & Santa Fe, and the contractor will need to make sure the public's aware at all times and provide variable messaging boards. o The contractor must follow CDOT standards. o The junction box is not in great shape and will be replaced with cast-in-place structure. (note: this is correction from the pre-proposal meeting) o The corrugated metal pipe connects to the junction box. o Soil testing will be handled by the city--bidders should not include this as part of your bid. o Bidders have three options to bid on: o only GROUP 1 pipe replacement work; OR o only GROUP 2 pipe lining work; OR o GROUP 3 both pipe replacement and pipe lining work If bidding on GROUP 3, ideally the lining work will occur at the same time as pipe replacement work to alleviate the need for double traffic control
