SCOPE OF SERVICES The Contractor shall furnish, and deliver as required, services for the inspection and maintenance of various types of fire extinguishers throughout the City as defined below. The various types and sizes of fire extinguishers provided in this IFB are the best information available to the City. If during the servicing of locations, it is determined that other fire extinguishers exist, the bidder shall service the extinguishers, as required by the contract, at the rate bid in the enclosed Bid Pricing Sheet. The reporting of the additional fire extinguisher service shall be provided to the Property Management Department. PERIOD OF CONTRACT: The initial term of the agreement shall be for a period of one (1) year from the date of approval by City Council with the right to extend the contract period for two (2) additional, one (1) year periods upon mutual agreement between the City of Pasadena and the contractor. INTENT The City is seeking bids from experienced and qualified firms for the purpose of establishing a term contract for Fire Extinguisher Inspections, Maintenance, Repair, and Recharging of City-owned fire extinguishers. The City, when necessary, will also purchase new fire extinguishers. This contract will be awarded to only one contractor. QUESTIONS AND ADDENDUM All questions that bidders need to have addressed and that might require an addendum must be submitted to the Purchasing Department in writing at least seven (7) days prior to the bid due date, if required a written addendum will be issued within two (2) days to all proposers who have received a copy of this IFB. PLEASE NOTE: No portion of your bid response can be sent via Fax or e-mail. The City Council reserves the right to waive any informalities or minor irregularities; reject any and all bids which are incomplete, conditional, obscure, or which contain additions not allowed for; accept or reject any bids in whole or in part with or without cause; and accept the bid which best serves the City.
