Renovation of an educational facility in San Diego, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Provide removal and installation of the roof in Building A, B, C, D and H (5 buildings) at Campus Services Complex (CSC). The material for this project will be procured by the University. Contractors must be on the list of the Garland Company pre-authorized contractors, and the project will be monitored and inspected by the Garland Company. Campus Services Complex (CSC): Replace Roof in Bldgs. A, B, C, D & H Prequalification of C-39 Roofing Contractors Estimated Construction Cost: $1,000,000 The prequalified Contractors will competitively bid for a lump-sum contract. The University seeks Contractors with demonstrated experience in roof replacement projects involving removing conventional asphalt roof and replacing with KEE membrane. Specific experience requirements includes: phased construction and coordination of multiple working areas and disciplines (MEP) of construction to ensure a seamless process, hot permit request, manufacturers certified installation of KEE roofing system, experience with MS Projects to provide work execution with timelines, and Ability to submit timely Monthly billings using AIA or equivalent form/template. Estimated Project Duration 120 Days The Contractor shall have demonstrated an average annual business revenue of at least $3,000,000 over the last five (5) consecutive years. All information requested in these forms must be provided in order to be considered "responsive" to the requirements of the prequalification. Confidentiality of the information provided will be respected to the extent permitted by law. The Contractor must have demonstrated experience on their best three (3) comparable projects with the Contractor providing services as Roofing Contractor within the last five (5) years. Projects should have possessed the following construction challenges: projects within pedestrian and vehicular traffic areas, operational offices sensitive to noise and disruptions, limited parking availability, urban site work with limited construction and staging areas, replacement of roof on buildings requiring proactive and innovative solutions due to noise, dust, and pedestrian traffic while building is occupied, and research is ongoing, renovations/expansions requiring proactive and innovative solutions due to unknown and/or unforeseen field conditions, project complexity requiring tracking of multiple functions and phases, critical path construction scheduling and execution to complete on time, demolition of material removal without disturbing occupants and/or visitors, installation of roofing system around the existing equipment and/fixture to maintaining existing equipment free from damage and/or disruption of services, hard to reach spaces with stationary equipment, and use of lifts and/or conveyor equipment for various uses. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
