The general scope of work shall consist of the furnishing and planting of approximately 400 new trees of varying species and related work at various locations. In addition, the following related items shall be included in the scope of work: cutting and excavation of tree pits; the watering and maintaining of the trees; preparation of planting soil mix and fertilizer additions; installation of bark mulch; and fine grading of planted areas. A minimum quantity is specified - it is probable that on certain species, the final number of trees planted will be substantially greater than the minimum amount. 150 trees are anticipated to be planted in the spring, and the remaining 250 trees will be planted in the fall. All work under this contract shall begin by April 10, 2025, and be completed by December 1, 2025, and all work shall be ready for final payment by December 15, 2025. Inquiries will be accepted until January 31, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. A 5% bid security (bond or certified check) required. A 50% payment bond will be required upon award of the contract. The City of Quincy reserves the right to withdraw the Bid; to reject any and all bids; and to accept any bids deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Quincy.
