This project includes all materials, equipment, transportation and labor necessary for the reconstruction and widening of 2nd Street NW from Franklin Street to Fireside Drive. Base Bid project items include 9" thick PCC pavement (Option A) or 10" thick HMA pavement (Option B), dependant on option bid and selected. Other items include water main, storm sewer, sidewalk, driveways, traffic control, restoration, and associated work. Alternate 1 project items include additional project staging, traffic control, temporary traffic signals, extended completion dates and associated work to maintain traffic on 2nd Street NW. Specific project location along with the kind and approximate quantity of materials to be used shall be as set forth in the Plans and Specifications. The City of Bondurant, Iowa, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally-assisted programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. The bidder may submit a bid for one or both options A and B. [Lowest of Option A (PCC) or Option B (HMA)] + Alternate 1 = Total Bid. The contract shall be awarded based upon the Total Bid amount. The City of Bondurant reserves the right to not proceed with Alternate 1 and only proceed with base Option A or Option B. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security, as defined in Section 26.8 of the Iowa Code in an amount equal to Ten (10) percent of the total amount of the bid. Work on the improvement shall commence within 10 days of the date specified on the Notice to Proceed. Notice to Proceed shall be no later than Within 10 days of Execution of Agreement, work shall be substantially complete on or before Base Bid: September 1, 2025; Alternate 1: November 1, 2025, and shall be fully completed on or before Base Bid: October 1, 2025; Alternate 1: December 1, 2025. Damages in the amount of One Thousand & 00/100 Dollars ($1,000.00) per day will be assessed for each day the work remains incomplete. The City of Bondurant, Iowa reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
