Bids were rejected. Will rebid at a later date. The Gardens at Artocka is a public art installation located at Lake Petocka in Bondurant, Iowa. As part of this project, improvements include the construction of an elevated boardwalk extending over the north side of the lake. The proposed boardwalk, titled "The Garden", will be 10 feet wide and approximately 250 linear feet in length. The project includes concrete abutment ramps for access, a helical pile foundation system with contractor-delegated design and installation, and construction of the steel boardwalk substructure, wood decking, and railings.Additional features include integrated raised planting beds, seating areas, and the installation of a floating accessible kayak launch and gangway, which will be provided by the owner. There is no formal pre-bid meeting. Interested bidders are encourage to visit the site prior to bidding. The project site is open to the public, therefore no prior authorization is needed prior to the site visit. The work must commencewithin 10 days of the date of the Notice to Proceed and must be Substantially Complete on October 14 , 20 25 .The project must reach Final Completion by November 21, 2025. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Each Bidder shall accompany the Bid with a Bid security, in a separate envelope, as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of the contract corporate surety bond or bonds, acceptable to the Owner, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equivalent to one hundred percent of the amount of the contract. The bidder's security shall be in an amount equivalent to 5% of the bid amount, and shall be in the form of a cashier's or certified check drawn on a bank in Iowa or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States of America, or a certified bank share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States of America or a bid bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the Owner. The bid security will be held by the Owner until a contract is fully executed and bonds are approved by the Owner. Substitution Requests (see Section 00 4325) and Bidder Questions are due to the Architect/Egnineer by 3:00 PM on October 24, 2025.
