In general, the work consists of complete design and installation of interpretive exhibits for the Chichaqua Visitor Center. Specifically, the selected exhibit firm will be required to: Create an exhibit concept plan for 3 exhibit areas within the Visitor Center Focus on interpretation and learning; not just design Request artifacts and interpretive data from Polk County Conservation Environmental Education staff Review exhibit content contained in the Conceptual Statement through regular meetings with the exhibit team Design exhibits and interpretive presentations Fabricate all exhibits Install all exhibits Provide orientation and training for Polk County Conservation staff and volunteers related to the new exhibition & maintenance care and upkeep The exhibit area consists of three rooms within the Visitor Center with a total square footage of approximately 900 sqft. A rough floor plan is attached. Polk County Conservation will provide the main overhead room lighting, floor treatments/carpeting, ceiling and wall finishes, exhibit object acquisition and conservation, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for the exhibit area. The total budget for all exhibit work (research, design, fabrication, installation and training) is approximately $200,000.
