SCOPE OF WORK: The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Corrections (DOC), requires Building 2 Roof Replacement at SCI Mahanoy, 301 Grey Line Drive, Frackville, PA 17931. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The scope of the project includes, but is not limited to: A. Removal of existing roof assemblies to expose existing roof insulation. Approximately 23,600 square feet of roofing is to be replaced on Building 2. B. Removal of associated metal edging, flashings, termination bars, bars, boots, accessories, trim, mastics and sealants and copings to expose clean working surfaces. C. Provision of new roofing assemblies (minimum R-30 continuous insulation plus tapered insulation-this will require installation of approximately 3 1/2 " of new continuous insulation on top of existing insulation), new roof edge, boots, trim, coping, flashings, termination bars, and sealants. A 20-year full system warranty must be included. D. Remove existing lightning protection system and replace with new. E. Remove and dispose of existing roof drains, extend existing drain leaders up to level of new roof elevation, and install new roof drains at existing roof drain locations. This bid solicitation has been reserved for Small Business Contracting. Only those Bidders certified as DGS Small Businesses through the Small Business Contracting Program may submit a bid for these services. BID AWARD It shall be understood and agreed that any quantities listed in the solicitation are estimated only and may be increased or decreased in accordance with the actual requirements of the Department of Corrections. The Commonwealth reserves the right to award by item or on a total Bid basis, whichever is deemed more advantageous to the Commonwealth.
