The College reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to waive any informalities and/or irregularities in the bid proposals, when in their judgment, the public will be better served. This contract requires a 100% payment bond and a 100% performance bond. Costs should be included in proposal bid price. Chesapeake College is requesting proposals for a ventilation system for the welding lab. 1. Bidder shall perform the following: 1.1. Provide and install fixed central overhead rigid duct system from source capture locations below to the outdoor unit. 1.2. Provide and install an outdoor collection and filter system adequately sized with return air. System shall use 3-phase motor(s) with VFD control(s). 1.3. Provide and install source capture fixed or movable ducting, downdraft, plenum and/or grille inside each of the 14 existing welding booths and at the instructor demonstration area. Note: Welding booths are not of adequate size for the installation of articulating arms. 1.4. Provide and install 4 (total) overhead articulating arms for source capture above the fabrication tables. 1.5. Provide and install fixed source capture hood and curtain assembly above CNC plasma table. 1.6. Provide and install blast gates for drops to each location. 1.7. Provide and install control system for unit operation 1.8. Provide onsite training for operation of the system as required. 1.9. Provide delivery of all materials and equipment to the jobsite. 1.10. Jobsite clean-up and removal of trash. 1.11. Provide a detailed proposal with all materials and equipment listed. 2. The College shall provide the following: 2.1. Electrical service feed and connection to the outdoor unit. 2.2. Compressed air feed and connection to the outdoor unit. 2.3. Scissor and boom lifts for the installation of ducting and outdoor unit. 2.4. Concrete pad for outdoor unit. 2.5. Wall penetration(s) for ducting to/from outdoor unit. 2.6. Permitting as required. 2.7. Removal of existing outdoor unit and ducting prior to installation of new equipment. 2.8. Provide access to areas for installation.
