Renovation of an educational facility in Middletown, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
**As of February 21,2025 , this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on February 24,2025. GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK A. The City of Middletown intends to improve indoor air quality and provide air conditioning systems at four elementary schools in the district: Bielefield ES, Snow ES, Moody ES, and Farm Hill ES. The City seeks to select a Delegated-Design-Build (DDB) firm to complete design work for each of the projects as well as construction of all required work. The DDB firm shall include all necessary consultants, professional engineers, and subcontractors to complete the project in its entirety. This includes but is not limited to selective demolition/general trades, concrete, mechanical, electrical, temperature controls, plumbing and roofing contractors. B. The DDB firm shall complete the scope of work in its entirety as Delegated-DesignBuild. This specification will only describe the desired systems, minimum system sizes, system performance levels and the final outcome desired for the Owner. All DDB firms intending to bid are required to visit the sites, document all pertinent conditions and provide a complete and responsive bid. No Change Orders will be issued for unforeseen conditions. The DDB firm will be required to design and detail all specific system requirements. The Contractor will be required to provide submittals, calculations, shop drawings and as-builts signed and sealed by a Professional Engineer registered in the State of Connecticut. The DDB firm shall be responsible for coordination of its subcontractors’ services in the field. C. This document is to act as a guideline for the Contractor, all planning and designing of the systems is the sole responsibility of the DDB Contractor. Designs for these systems must be submitted to the Owner and Owner’s Representative, for review, prior to starting the work or ordering the equipment.
