Renovation of an educational facility in Blackshear, Georgia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Buyer Contact: Harbin Farr harbinfarr@pierce.k12.ga.us 912-449-2097 The Pierce County Board of Education is soliciting bids for the following at Midway Elementary School: o Removal & replacement of carpet and cove base in the media center and administrative areas. o Removal of classroom carpet and application of stain/polish to the concrete back in same areas. o Stain and re-polish existing concrete hallways & other areas already having polished concrete. o Grind down, or demo if required, existing resinous flooring in bathrooms and kitchen & apply new resinous floor of different color. o Remove and replace sports flooring in the multipurpose room. A mandatory site visit is required. Information may also be picked up at the Board office at 840 East Main Street, Blackshear GA, 31516. General scope Provide all materials and labor for the removal of existing carpeted flooring, glue, cove base, sports flooring, resinous flooring, and concrete polishing for areas specified. Estimated flooring replacement quantities are: o Carpet replacement - 4,180 sqft o Classroom carpet removal & polish - 18,653 sqft o Re-stain & polish existing - 19,672 sqft o Resinous flooring - 7,176 sqft o Sports flooring replacement - 1,650 sqft o Walk-off carpet - 324 sqft However, it is the responsibility of the contractor to verify all quantities. General Specification See drawing details attached below. Material Specification Administrative and Media Center Carpet: o Shaw: 24x24 tiles breathable backing o Collection Simply by nature o Style name arrange tile o Style number 5T294 o Color name mirror grey o Color number 94535 o Walk-off: Patcraft "Beyond the Door"; Obsidian 00595 (or similar if approved by owner) o Resilient Base: Johnsonite, Black 40 (or similar if owner approved) o Sports Flooring: Tarkett, Omnisports Multi-use 6.2 mm welded seam o Floor Polishing system/products: SASE Signature Floor System or owner pre-approved equivalent. o Resinous Flooring: Key Resin Company or owner approved equivalent Work to be performed o Contractor shall perform all necessary site work required to remove existing materials, and prep floors to a smooth finish (including patching any cracks that may be encountered when removing old flooring) and install new flooring and new resilient cove base. All existing Glue must be removed. All new flooring glue throughout school shall be suitable for high moisture resistance. All resinous flooring must be ground down to accept new resinous flooring, of a new color to be chosen by owner, or completely remove any current areas that are not properly bonded or able to accept an overcoating of new resinous flooring. o All concrete staining & polishing shall be done in accordance with attached specifications. o Major work may begin on May 26, 2025. All work must be completed by July 25, 2025. Once awarded, some work may take place prior to this date at any time during weekends and holidays etc. pending coordination with owner, as long as it does not interfere with the current school operations. Site Verification and Protection o It is the responsibility of the contractor to verify all existing conditions and measurements. Any overlooked conditions or misjudgment in measurements, work/labor required to complete the project, or material calculations are the sole responsibility of the contractor. It is also the responsibility of the contractor to protect the site, using signage, barricades, and temporary fencing if required in order to provide a safe work environment. All material must be stored on jobsite prior to any billing. If storage containers are required, they will be provided for by contractor at contractor's expense. Contractor will be required to leave jobsite clean and safe upon completion.
