Site work and renovation of a water / sewer project in Ottawa, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; and for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The overall project consists of the construction works associated the rehabilitation of Digester no. 1. The project will involve the following key elements: - Cleaning of digester subsequent to it being taken out of service by City operations. - Remove existing roof system and re-roof including new wear slab. - Removal of the existing gas dome and installation of a larger dome including new concrete curb and floor, ventilation, valves, heating and lighting. - Concrete crack repairs on digester base slab and roof slab. - Preparation for and completion of waterproofing of the digester interior walls, columns and base slab. - Preparation for and completion of gas proofing of the interior of the digester tank and digester overflow box, including the wall area adjacent to the gas room. - Removal and replacement of existing digester gas mixing piping, insulation, and associated wood supports, gaskets, flanges and anchor bolts. - Removal and replacement of existing overflow sludge box frame and cover, including installation of new gas vent and replacement of level transmitter. - Modifications to existing walkway to accommodate increased gas piping slope and relocation of stairs. - Supply and installation of electrical power supply and distribution systems for digester gas dome upgrades. - Replace existing viewport or blanking of existing viewport with City supplied plate. - Upgrade lightning protection system. - Upgrade heat tracing components. - Supply and installation of instrumentation and control systems for digester gas dome upgrades. - Various testing, including digester tank pressure test prior to and after application of gas coating, roof liner testing (flood test and EVDM), all in accordance with the latest revision of applicable code and TSSA requirements (i.e. Code for digester gas, landfill gas, and biogas generation and utilization, CSA/ANSI B149.6:20) - All other work as required to complete the project per final specifications and drawings once received. Constraints Some of the constraints and challenges of the Digester no.1 Rehabilitation project include, but are not limited to, the following: Working adjacent to other active digesters; Construction Manager to request isolation of relevant equipment prior to commencing any works. All workers accessing the digester facility will be expected to be cleared to a minimum of reliability (Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check). Limited lay down areas and parking. Construction Manager to provide construction site access to ROPEC Operational staff upon request. A letter from the Surety Company confirming the proponent's total bonding limits. The successful Proponent will be required to provide e-bonding: a 50% Performance Bond and 50% Labour & Material Payment Bond on behalf of the respondent for all work. For evaluation purposes, Proponents are advised that the Cost of Work is estimated at $5.4M.
