QCH is tendering to our Category B General Contractors on the valid Vendor of Record list for the provision of a Fire Protection Upgrade Project. The full scope of work is prescribed in detail in the attached tender documents. Without limiting the specifics of these requirements, the work generally consists of: 1 This Project includes the provision of sprinkler coverage and fire alarm system upgrades in the plant area. There is a pipe replacement scope of work within the Cancer Building on the second floor near patient rooms to suit the addition of the backflow preventor at the Boiler Room water entry. Emergency exit signage in the area of work will be replaced with new. Lighting in areas where new ceilings are being provided will be replaced with new. New sprinkler piping near overhead doors will be provided with heat trace. Architectural work includes the provision of corridor walls and ceilings, ceiling replacements in exit stair and corridor sections, and fire stopping of new penetrations through fire rated wall assemblies. All new piping, conduit, equipment, panels, etc. to be seismically braced. Each Bid shall be accompanied by Bid security in the form of a Bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid Price naming the Owner as obligee and issued by a surety licensed to conduct surety and insurance business in Ontario. The Bid security is for the benefit of the Owner and stands as security that the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will deliver the performance security and evidence of insurance and other documents required by these Instructions to Bidders or by the Contract, and will execute the Contract. The Bid security shall remain valid for the duration of the Irrevocability Period as measured from the date of Bid submission. No other form of Bid security is acceptable.
