Reference Number 0000286665 Question Acceptance Deadline 2025/02/10 11:59:00 PM EST The City of Ottawa, hereinafter referred to as the City, is seeking qualification submissions to provide professional engineering services to carry out preliminary design, detailed design, tender document preparation, construction inspection and contract administration, and engineering support services for the project “Valley Drive Storm Trunk Rehabilitation - Phase 3 The Valley Drive Storm Sewer Trunk is one of the main infrastructure spines for stormwater drainage services for the Elmvale-Eastway-Riverview neighbourhood in the Alta-Vista Ward. It is approximately 2.27km long and extends north-south from the northern dead-end of Saunderson Dr. (at Perley Rideau Veteran's Health Centre) to St-Laurent Blvd. / Walkley Rd. intersection where it connects into the Eastern Walkley Storm Trunk. The Valley Drive Strom Trunk was built in the mid 50's and early 60's and is made of structural plate corrugated steel pipe (SPCSP) arch sections of different dimensions. The Valley Drive Storm Trunk was assessed to be in poor condition with substandard hydraulic performance. Renewal was undertaken in phases, with Phase 1 and 2 construction of the downstream portion, completed between 2019 and 2023. This assignment is an integrated road, water and sewer renewal project to replace the upstream portion of the Valley Drive Storm Trunk along Saunderson Drive. The project scope includes the following works: Replace the storm sewer trunk from the Weston Park access to the dead-end north of Halstead Street. The conceptual design considered the sewer trunk replacement to be 2100mm in diameter and 1120m in length Replace the existing local storm sewer from the Weston Park access to Pleasant Park Road Replace the watermain from Pleasant Park Road to Smyth Road, and from Haig Drive to the dead-end north of Halstead Street. Protect the watermain from Smyth Road to Haig Drive, if feasible. Abandon the local 300mm sanitary sewer between Weston Drive and Hamlet Road. Reconnect services to the parallel 600mm sanitary sewer. Protect all other sanitary sewer, if feasible. Decommission and remove the small sanitary sewer overflow pumping station at the southeast corner of #1940 Saunderson Drive. Pump equipment, as well as electrical and SCADA equipment to be salvaged. Replace all water services and sewer laterals that are impacted during construction, to the property line Reconstruct roadway to full road depth, including sidewalks, curbs and cycle track (where applicable), from Pleasant Park Road to Smyth Road, and from Haig Drive to the dead-end north of Halstead Street. Reinstate the sewer trench and overlay the roadway from Smyth Road to Haig Drive Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
