Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Bend, Oregon. Working plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
As of July 28, 2025, this project is the recipient of a Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant which is in review. A schedule for bidding and construction has not been determined until the grant agreement is finalized. The owner hopes to place this project out for bid soon with construction beginning early 2026 but an exact schedule has not been determined. The existing park entrance and parking lot have reached the end of their life span and need to be replaced. The pavement is rutted and pot-holed beyond normal maintenance repair, and the parking lot is outdated and no longer functions well with park users and the capacity required. The project looked at all forms of transportation to and from the park and it was determined to relocate the parking area adjacent to O.B. Riley Road in the northeast corner of the park. The preferred concept design was developed from public outreach to determine the final scope of work. The project now includes updated parking, restroom facilities, ADA trail upgrades and a new community park shelter.
