Hazardous materials consulting services may include, but are not limited to, the following: Conducting hazardous materials inspection services varying in scope as defined by and as selected by the University. These inspection services may range from simple reconnaissance-level observation (no sampling or testing) to full-scale asbestos surveys of sufficient detail which may include sampling, laboratory testing, and comprehensive report preparation to satisfy regulatory agencies in the course of building renovations, demolition, etc., involving asbestos-containing materials (ACM). Performing tests concerning asbestos, lead, and mold on existing buildings and systems as required and authorized by the University. Conducting comprehensive hazardous material surveys. Identifying, sampling and performing laboratory tests on suspected hazardous materials. Preparing reports documenting laboratory analysis, locations, quantities, and descriptions of suspected and confirmed hazardous materials supported by a map showing sample locations, and appropriate chain-ofcustody and original lab results/tables appended. Survey report results must be concisely presented to facilitate estimation of abatement costs. Preparing cost estimates for the abatement, remediation and disposal of hazardous materials. Editing of the University's standard specifications for Bidding Documents for various renovation and demolition projects. Provide recommendations on the procedures for abatement and containment to be performed by outside contractors. Reviewing Construction Documents submittals regarding suspected and confirmed hazardous materials. Perform construction monitoring, air sampling, clearance sampling and analysis. Perform and reviewing documentation as required by regulatory agencies. Provide or assist in training University personnel in any of the services or subject areas listed above.
