Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Tecumseh, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
**As of April 09, 2025, the project was awarded to Michael Andrews Concrete LLC, but the awarded amount is not available.** The City of Tecumseh seeks bids from qualified contractors to provide concrete curb and gutter installation and replacement (flowable fill) services (replacing areas before the curb where asphalt is missing). Work shall be completed on or adjacent to the following streets within the City of Tecumseh: Westhaven Subdivision, Southwestern Drive, North Occidental Road (north of Brown Street), Nokomis Street, Wing Court, Curtis Court, Seminole Drive, Cairns Street, Osage Lane, Huron Street, and Meadow View Drive. The City is seeking a linear ft. price on curb and gutter, 4 inches and 6 inches thick. The project will consist of approximately 600 linear ft. curb, which is to match existing curb. Some ADA ramps will apply and the ADA implant will be provided by City. The layout and slope of the ramps must be approved with the City before pouring. INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS: 1) METHOD OF SUBMITTAL: *Sealed Bids must be addressed to the City Clerk and clearly marked as to content ("Bid - Concrete Curb and Gutter Installation and Replacement"). *Bids may be mailed, placed in the City's night deposit box, or hand delivered to the City Clerk during regular business hours, 7:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, at Tecumseh City Hall (at the above-stated address). FAXED BIDS OR UNSEALED BIDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Bids received past the specified deadline will not be accepted or considered unless the deadline is extended through a written addendum. 2) SPECIFICATIONS: Please see attached Project Specifications. 3) BID SHEET AND CONTRACT: All bids must be submitted on the attached document, "City of Tecumseh Bid Sheet & Contract." Before the bid is awarded, all contractors must provide completed W-9 and Certificate of Liability Insurance forms. 4) BID OPENING: All bids shall be opened in public at the time and place designated in this invitation to bid, in the presence of the City Clerk or her designee, who will document said bid opening, and at least one other City Official, preferably the head of the department most closely concerned with the subject of the bid request. S) QUESTIONS AND CLARIFICATIONS: Questions regarding this bid may be addressed to Troy Rohrbach, DPW Superintendent, at 517-423-1443 or 517-605-2233, during normal business hours, 7:00 a.m. through 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Questions regarding this Invitation to Bid will be received up until 12:00 Noon on Friday, March 7, 2025. 6) INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: The successful bidder shall maintain insurance according to the following specifications: a. Workers Compensation Insurance The Contractor shall maintain Michigan Workers' Compensation Insurance for all its employees assigned to perform services on behalf of the City during the life of the contract. The Contractor shall similarly require any subcontractor to provide Michigan Workers' Compensation Insurance for all of the latter's employees unless such employees are covered by the protection offered by the primary Contractor. b. General Liability and Property Damage Insurance The Contractor shall maintain during the life of the Contract such General Liability and Property Damage Insurance as shall protect it and any subcontractor performing work covered by this Contract from claims for damage for personal injury, including accidental death, as well as for claims for property damages which may arise from operations under this Contract whether such operation by itself or by any subcontractor, or by anyone directly or indirectly employed by either of them. c. Owner's and Contractor's Protective Liability Coverage The Contractor shall maintain Owner's and Contractor's Protective Liability Coverage during the life of this contract. The City of Tecumseh shall additionally be named as insured. This coverage shall include the entire scope of work. The Contractor shall furnish a Certificate of Insurance certifying its Owner's and Contractor's Protective Liability Insurance, including any subcontractors engaged in the work. The minimum limits of liability for all insurance coverage in the above-named policies shall be as follows: Bodily Injury Liability Amount Each Person $2,000,000 Each Occurrence $2,000,000 Aggregate $2,000,000 Property Damage Liability Each Occurrence Aggregate Amount $2,000,000 $2,000,000 Certificates of Insurance The Contractor and any subcontractors shall file Certificates of Insurance for all insurance coverage required above, naming the City of Tecumseh as the Certificate holder. All Certificates of Insurance shall contain the name and address of the insurance agency. All insurance certificates must include a provision for written notice to the City of Tecumseh regarding any cancellations, material changes, reduction in insurance coverage, or nonrenewal. 7) GENERAL CONDITIONS: The following General Conditions are imposed on all bids submitted in response to this invitation: a. Contractors' bids represent an offer to contract on the part of the proposing party, and all proposed prices must remain in effect for at least ninety (90) days from the date of bid opening. b. No contractor may withdraw a bid after the actual opening date, except in the case where a contractor demonstrates to the City of Tecumseh's satisfaction that a material and substantial mistake was made in preparing the bid. In this event, the respondent has 24 hours after the bid opening to deliver to the City of Tecumseh a notice in writing that it desires to withdraw its bid and state why. Once a bid is withdrawn, it may not be resubmitted. c. c. The City of Tecumseh reserves the right to waive any informalities, immaterial omissions, or defects not involving prices in the bid or other arithmetical errors; the Unit Price shall govern. d. The City of Tecumseh will not pay any cost incurred by the respondent in preparing or submitting any bids in response to this invitation. e. Any deviation from the specification included in this Invitation must be noted in the response, and the Contractor must provide a written rationale for the deviation. f. The selected Contractor will not be permitted to assign any agreement between the individual or firm and the City of Tecumseh, nor will the individual or firm be permitted to subcontract services without first obtaining written consent from the City of Tecumseh's authorized representative. g. The selected Contractor will be expected to perform the services in a manner that is consistent with industry/trade standards for the type of work to be provided. h. The City of Tecumseh reserves the right to accept any bid, reject any and all bids, negotiate construction costs, and award a bid that is in the best interest of the City of Tecumseh.
