Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Kellogg, Idaho. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
This project will remove the existing three-span concrete girder bridge for Bunker Avenue over the S Fork Coeur d'Alene River in the City of Kellogg, Idaho. The bridge will be replaced with a new single span, side-by-side, prestressed concrete thin deck girder bridge with a concrete deck and integral abutments on driven steel H-piles. The new 158-foot long, 47-foot wide, single-span prestressed concrete girder bridge will be constructed approximately on the existing alignment. A concrete deck will serve as the driving surface of the bridge. The new bridge abutments will be supported by steel H-piles. The roadway approaches to the bridge will be reconstructed approximately 64-feet to the south and 75-feet to the north of the new bridge to accommodate the wider structure. The new bridge will provide two lanes of traffic, five-foot shoulders, and elevated sidewalks to accommodate pedestrian traffic. The roadway profile grade will approximately match the existing grade to prevent impacts to the I-90 interchange ramps to the north.
