The Tonkin Drain project will be let in two divisions. Division II candidates must be prequalified Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) contractors to complete work within MDOT right-of-way. Division I will consist of selective clearing, open channel excavation, enclosed storm sewer replacement, drain structures, culvert removal and installation, site clearing, and road construction work including gravel road restoration and bituminous drive and road restoration. Division II will consist of installation of storm sewer, drain structures, watermain and lateral relocations, box culvert installation, culvert removal, and bituminous road restoration. There is one drain crossing that will require replacement within Division II, Northland Drive, Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). Location Details City: Bid Rapids County: Mecosta State/Province: MI The open channel will be cleaned out to original depth and bottom width in three sections having a length, average depth, and average width of: 1,632 lineal feet of 1 ft deep (+/-), 8 ft bottom width, 4,064 lin. ft., 1 ft depth (+/-), 12 ft width, and 1,356 lineal feet of 1 ft deep (+/-), 6 ft bottom width. One closed section of pipe will be bid with Division No. 1 including 618 lin. ft. of 36 inch diameter storm sewer with depths ranging from 6 to 13 ft (+/-).
