Metra Elevator Replacement Site Address: 625 52nd Street, Room 305 City: Kenosha County: Kenosha State/Province: WI Site Directions: 5414 13th Avenue Pre-Qualification: Yes The City of Kenosha, Wisconsin is using FTA Grant and city funds to seek bids on behalf of Kenosha Area Transit for the contractor to remove the existing elevator, manufacture, deliver and install a commercial elevator at the Metra Station. The primary purpose of the commercial elevator is to carry train patrons to the first level and that includes wheelchairs and assisted mobility devices. The minimum weight capacity will be 2500 pounds as described in plans and specifications. The commercial elevator must be engineered to operate in local weather conditions, including snow/rain/freezing rain and other harsh conditions. The elevator would be subject to all applicable USDOT, FTA and Wisconsin Department of Transportation third-party procurement requirements, terms, conditions and certifications as set forth in the bid documents. Each bid must contain the full name of every person or company interested in the same and must be accompanied by a contract, signed FTA certification regarding 49 U.S.C. 5323(j) and 49 CFR part 661 provided in bid documents and bid bond, a certified check, or a bank cashier's check, in the sum of five per cent (5%) of the bid, payable to the City of Kenosha as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and its performance properly secured within fifteen (15) days of the award of contract. As this is an FTA Grant funded project, procurement will be required to follow Buy America requirements as laid out in 49 U.S.C. 5323(j)(1), and the applicable regulations in 49 CFR part 661. Please see Appendix B in our bid packet for more information. The form provided for "Bidder's Proof of Responsibility" shall be completed and returned to the Director of Engineering not less than five (5) days before the date of bid opening.
