Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Newton, Georgia. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
The scope of work consists of, but not limited to, the construction of a new Agricultural Lab Building. Prime Contractors who return the documents complete and in good condition within ten days after the bid opening will be refunded their full deposit. If documents are not returned, the entire deposit will be forfeited. Prime Contractors may obtain additional sets, and Subcontractors and Material Suppliers may obtain copies of the documents by depositing $150.00 with the Architect for each set of documents so obtained. This is not refundable. No partial sets will be issued. Shipping charges are in addition to deposit. Checks or money orders shall be made payable to the Baker County School System. Documents may also be obtained from the Architect electronically in a .pdf format, for which a deposit will not be required. No partial sets will be issued. Prime Contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers who obtain documents in this manner are responsible for providing their full company name, mailing address, email address, phone number, and fax number to the Architect. Prime Contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers who obtain documents in this manner are also fully responsible for verifying that they have received a complete set of the Contract Forms, Drawings and Specifications. A Bid Bond executed by an acceptable Surety company in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check drawn on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, payable to the Baker County School System in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be an acceptable Bid Bond. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond(s) in the amount of 100% of the contract amount. All sureties must be authorized to transact business in the State of Georgia and must be listed on the U.S. Treasury Department Circular No. 570 (most current list), published annually listing companies approved to act as surety on bonds securing government contracts, and said surety or sureties must be in accordance with maximum underwriting limits on each contract as specified in the above-mentioned Circular No. 570. Before the opening of bids, bidders or their representatives shall attend a NON-MANDATORY Prebid Conference with representatives of the Owner and Architect. The conference will serve to allow bidders to address questions to the Owner and Architect. Bids must be submitted on the proper Bid Forms (include all required attachments). Bids received after the designated times and/or without the required attachments will not be considered. No oral, telephonic, telegraphic, facsimile, or written modification to the bid will be considered after bid time. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after time and date of opening. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities. All expenses for preparing and submitting bids are the sole cost of the party submitting the bid. The Baker County Board of Education is not obligated to any party to reimburse such expenses. Question Deadline 03/04/2025 Request for interpretations must be made in writing.
