Renovation of a clubhouse / community center in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center.

Bridgeport, the most populous city in Connecticut and the fifth-most populous in New England, is situated in eastern Fairfield County at the mouth of the Pequonnock River on Long Island Sound. With a population of 148,654 in 2020, it is 60 miles from Manhattan and 40 miles from The Bronx, forming part of the New York metropolitan area. The city borders Trumbull to the north, Fairfield to the west, and Stratford to the east. Bridgeport is a significant part of the Greater Bridgeport Planning Region and the Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk-Danbury metropolitan statistical area, the second largest in Connecticut. Question Submission Deadline: February 13, 2025, 5:00pm Question Response Deadline: February 19, 2025, 5:00pm This contract is subject to utilization goals and requirements for participation of certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBE). The utilization requirement for certified African American Owned Business Enterprises is 6% of the total contract sum. Include with the submitted bid, a ten (10%) percent bid bond or a certified check made payable to the City of Bridgeport with its bid submission if the bid is $50,000.00 or more, except for bids from MBEs, for which a bid bond is required on bids that are $100,000 or more. The successful bidder, prior to permission to proceed, will be required to post a payment bond of 100% of the contract price if the contract price is in excess of $100,000, and a performance bond for 100% of the contract price, if the bid is $50,000.00, or more except that performance bonds from MBEs will only be required on projects that are $100,000.00 or more. Scope of Work PY48 Exterior Fence 1. All contractors will assess the entire exterior of the building areas during the walkthrough. The selected contractor will have stamped drawing/print or whatever is necessary for the Building Department approval. The selected contractor must receive a permit before the job can commence. Contractor will ensure all newly install fencing, gates, posts, spring, and latches for self-closing etc. are plumb and level. 2. The contractor will purchase and install roughly 45 section of commercial aluminum fence four (4') foot high by eight (8') foot wide in one area and six (6') foot high by eight (8') foot wide in other areas along with all necessary post, caps, wiring, cement etc. 3. The existing eight (8') foot high by eight (8') foot wide will be replaced with same inkind only. 4. The contractor will match the existing fence style that currently exist along Clinton Avenue eight (8') foot fence throughout the project. 5. Note: Contractor will follow the cities map provided with the bid package showing the property and property lines highlighted areas for the four (4') & six (6') foot fence along with all gates and hardware for the new fence installation. 6. The fence color that will be installed is black. 7. The contractor will purchase and install all necessary entry & exit walkway gates with security latches, springs, locks etc. for this project. 8. The contractor will purchase and install one (1) electrified elongated sliding gate at the existing driveway opening for entry and exit. 8. The contractor will purchase and install a twenty-one (21') electrified elongated sliding gate at the existing driveway opening for entry and exit. The contractor will refer to specification lines #8 & 9 for this application. 9. The contractor will install an exit loop in the driveway for hand free exiting. 10. The contractor will purchase and install a keypad for opening the newly installed driveway gate. (Alternate 1). 11. The contractor will purchase and install a remote control for opening the newly installed driveway gate (Alternate 2). 12. The contractor will purchase and install a keypad and remote control for opening the newly installed driveway gate. (Alternate 3). 13. All newly installed fences and gates system will match the existing one on Clinton Avenue. 14. The owner will grant access to the basement area for power source (electrical room) The City of Bridgeport reserves the right to reject any and all bids in whole or in part or to accept any bid, in its sole discretion if doing so deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Bridgeport. This contract is subject to utilization goals and requirements for participation of certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBE). The utilization requirement for certified African American Owned Business Enterprises is 6% of the total contract sum. The overall utilization goal for Minority-Owned Business Enterprises is 15% and for Women-Owned Business Enterprises is 15%.
