Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in West Jordan, Utah. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The City of West Jordan on behalf of the Public Works Department (OWNER) is seeking bids from qualified concrete contractors holding an E100 or S260 contractor's license to repair concrete work located in areas planned for paving in Summer 2025. Concrete work will include pumping/mud-jacking and curb & gutter and sidewalk. Concrete work will include replacing curb & gutter, sidewalk, and some driveway panels impacted by the curb. The City will provide access to our online GIS tracking of hazards to update and track work in the field in real-time. QUESTIONS DEADLINE: Thursday, February 27, 2025 @ 10:00 a.m. General Specifications: A. The contractor's work shall not cause damage to any adjacent improvements (walks, sprinklers, walls, fences, etc.) If the contractor and/or contractor's equipment does cause damage to above, the City must be notified immediately and damages must be repaired at the contractor's expense within 48 hours of the time the damage occurred. Contractor is responsible for any required blue staking. The contractor shall take precautions during operations not to disfigure, scar, or impair the health of any tree on public or private property. Contractor must repair each work item without damage or visible markings to adjacent slab(s) or curb(s). B. The contractor shall repair all damage to landscaping and sprinkler systems caused by concrete work. Sprinkler systems shall be repaired within 48 hours of damage. Landscaping shall be repaired before contractor moves on to work in other areas in the City. C. The contractor shall schedule the operations as to minimize interruption, interference, or disturbance to the operation of stores, businesses, office buildings, hotels, schools, churches, etc., and allow access by pedestrians and emergency, delivery and service vehicles at all times. Contractor shall take action to abate dust, "slurry" and other byproducts from their operation so as to not cause a hazard or inconvenience to the public, nor allowing such materials to enter the storm drain. D. Contractor must completely and immediately clean up all debris after each concrete item is repaired. All costs incurred for disposal of waste material shall be included in unit cost and not paid for separately. Sidewalk repair equipment and all other items incidental to the work shall not be left or stored on the sidewalk or on private property while not in use. All equipment shall be appropriately marked with traffic control devices while located in the right of way per MUTCD. If contractor is approached by the public with questions, the contractor shall address their concerns in a professional and polite manner. E. Contractor must submit an itemized summary of all repaired hazards which includes the GPS location to provide data to the city which will integrate into their system. The City will provide access to our online tracking program that can be accessed via phone or tablet to track repairs made. F. Contractor shall obtain a no-cost encroachment permit from the Engineering Department prior to the start of work. Although the fee will be waived, the contractor must comply with all other requirements of the permit, including but not limited to insurance requirements and traffic control plans. Traffic Control plans should be MUTCD compliant. Sidewalks will need to be closed during sidewalk work and appropriate traffic control devices must be used to indicate such. G. Provide a progress schedule at the beginning of the project and at each invoice/pay request. GIS tracker must be up to date at the time of invoicing so that work can be inspected. All invoices must show address location of repair, measurement of repair as listed in the GIS system, and calculations for grinds (inch-feet calculations). H. Material mix designs must be approved by the City prior to use.
