The City of Compton Public Works Street Maintenance Department is soliciting proposals from experienced contractors and firms to perform citywide assessment, inventory and installation of street name signs. A mandatory pre-proposal meeting is not required for this project. INTRODUCTION AND PURPOSE The City of Compton Public Works Street Maintenance Department is seeking Request for Proposals (RFPs) from qualified firms to assess, inventory and install street name signs throughout the City. The purpose of this project is to ensure that all street signs are accurately inventoried, properly assessed for condition and installed or replaced where necessary to ensure safety and compliance with relevant standards. The scope of the project includes the following tasks: Assessment of Existing Street Name Signs Perform a detailed assessment of all existing street name signs within City limits. Identify signs that are damaged, faded, missing, or not in compliance with current standards, including reflectivity and size. Provide a comprehensive report on the existing condition of each sign, including a prioritized list for replacement or repair. Inventory of Street Name Signs Develop and implement a system to create a complete and accurate inventory of all street name signs, including descriptions of locations and condition reports. Prepare and deliver a digital map or database of street name sign locations. Installation of New or Replacement Signs Install new or replacement street name signs at locations identified during the assessment phase, in accordance with all applicable safety, accessibility and municipal guidelines. Provide signposts and hardware necessary for installation where applicable. CONTRACT TERM The term of the initial agreement shall be for a period of three (3) years, tentatively commencing March 1, 2025 through February 29, 2028, with two (2) one-year optional extensions. The City will retain the option, at its sole discretion to extend the agreement. The City also reserves the right to terminate the contract at any time. RIGHT TO REJECT PROPOSALS This RFP does not commit the City to award a contract, pay any cost incurred in the preparation of a proposal in response to this RFP or to procure or contract for services. The City intends to award a contract(s) on the basis of the best interest and advantage to the City and reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals received as a result of this RFP, to negotiate with any or all qualified proposers or to cancel this RFP in part or in its entirety, if it is in the best interest of the City to do so.
