This project includes providing all labor, materials, equipment, and supplies necessary to chip seal 29,287 SY of roadway with 3/8" chip (City supplied) and 20,834 SY with 1/2" chip(contractor supplied)The scope of work consists of traffic control, cleaning road surfaces before and after chip sealing, applying oil, marking roadway paint and thermoplastics before sealing, installing paint and thermoplastics after sealing, covering and uncovering utility lids, distributing aggregate, and rolling. All work, materials, and installation shall comply with the project plans, specifications, Middleton Supplemental Specifications, and the ISPWC. Engineers estimate $245,000 - $275,000 All bids shall be submitted on the prescribed bid form and in the manner indicated in the Instructions to Bidders The City of Middleton reserves the right to accept the bids and award a contract to the lowest responsible bidder based on the base bid schedule excluding costs contained in the alternate schedule; to postpone the acceptance of the bid and the award of the contract for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days; or to reject any and all the bids received and further advertise the project for bids. The base bid will be awarded to only one contractor. The City of Middleton may reject any bid not in compliance with all prescribed public bidding procedures and requirements, and may reject, for good cause, any or all bids upon the finding of the City it is in the public interest to do so. A pre-bid conference will not be held. Attendance is not mandatory. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
