**As of April 9, 2025, the project was awarded to Richards Corporation but the awarded amount is not available.** Questions Due Date: Feb 26th 2025, 2:00 PM EST Online Portal via the Eastern Bid Portal Project Description: Summary of Work includes but is not limited to the following: 1. Replacement of an existing concrete staircase including handrails, site lighting, and associated site work. 2. Replacement of existing steel handrails with aluminum handrails behind Niejadlik Hall. 3. The project also consists of catch basin repair, replacement of three water main valves, and minor masonry repairs. The award shall be made on the lowest Sum of base bid amount including any accepted supplemental bid(s). The supplemental bids must be accepted in sequential order as they are listed herein. The Owner/Agency reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to accept a bid in greater compliance with the materials, labor, and methods defined in this specification. In the event of any discrepancy between the amount written in words and the amount written in numerical figures, the amount written in words shall be controlling. The contractor is required to hold his bid price for sixty (60) days. In the event that the contract award is delayed beyond the (60) days, the Agency must obtain written confirmation from the contractor extending the bid. Commencement of work: The Contractor shall commence work within five (5) working days after receiving notice to begin work by the Agency. Construction Start: On or before May 19, 2025 Substantial Completion: Shall be completed by August 1, 2025 Construction Duration: Construction Duration shall be 75 calendar days. The General Contractor shall maintain Builder's Risk insurance providing coverage for the entire work at the project site and shall also cover portions of the Work in transit. Coverage shall be written on an All-Risk, Replacement Cost, and completed Value Form basis in an amount at least equal to the projected completed value of the Work and the policy shall state that it is for the benefit of and payable to the State of Connecticut work, as their interests may appear.
