Renovation of an educational facility in Norwalk, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
As of May 20, 2025, the project was awarded toMariscal Painting, Inc. with an awarded amount of $317,000.50 Consists of removing existing damaged intumescent fireproofing system to expose existing bare steel surfaces of structural members at building exterior by abrasive blasting or high pressure water blasted. Small areas use needle gun and grinding as necessary. Clean all existing steel substrate free of dust, dirt, grease and after existing material has been removed, prepare surfaces by lightly sanding or abrading surfaces to roughen and degloss the surfaces. Furnish and install to replace existing system removed. New exterior grade expoxy fire resistive coating system. Basis of design product: Thermo-Lag E100S Epoxy Intumescent Fireproofing, ITS Design Numbers CC/IF 18- 01, CC/IF 180-05 for 1 hour rating. Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the California Business and Professions Code, and be licensed to perform the work called for in the Contract Documents. The successful bidder must possess a valid and active Class B License, at the time of award and throughout the duration of this Contract . This project has 3% Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise participation goals. a cashiers check made payable to the District; (3) a certified check made payable to the District; or (4) a bidders bond Separate payment and performance bonds, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total Contract amount, are required (by the awarded contractor), and shall be provided to the District prior to execution of the Contract and shall be in the form set forth in the Contract Documents. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding. Selective demolition and construction necessary for the John Glenn H.S. Science Building - Intumescent Coating Replacement Project, as indicated in the Drawings and Specifications. Generally, the scope of the demolition consists of the removal of existing damaged intumescent fireproofing system to expose existing bare steel surfaces of structural members at the Science Building V exterior by abrasive blasting or highpressure water blasting. Small areas use needle gun and grinding as necessary. Clean all existing steel substrates free of dust, dirt, grease and after material has been removed, prepare surfaces by lightly sanding or abrading surfaces to roughen and degloss the steel member surfaces. The Scope of New Work is to furnish and install exterior grade epoxy fire resistive coating system to provide 1 hour fire rated protection of the existing steel structural frame of the existing 2 -story Science Classroom Building. All inquiries concerning the scope of work for Bid No. 202425-7 should be submitted in writing and emailed to the attention of Edith Florence, Director, Facilities, Planning & Construction, eflorence@nlmusd.org no later than 2:00 p.m. on the 28 th day of April, 2025
