Background and Introduction: UCSB San Benito Student Housing project, located on the main UC Santa Barbara campus, is envisioned as a new LEED Gold residential community, providing student apartments with a range of amenities. Located on roughly 6.8 acres of developable area and surrounded by a sizable Environmentally Sensitive Habitat Area ("ESHA"), the sloping topography will incorporate native plantings and preserve the protected landscape. Statements of Qualifications submittals are hereby solicited by the University of California, Santa Barbara ("University") from Consultant firms with relevant experience and expertise. The selected consultant will provide Archeological & Cultural Monitoring services associated with the San Benito Student Housing project ("Project"), as more fully described in this Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") No. FM250261. The selected consultant(s) services shall include, but not be limited to the review ofrelevant project materials and safety documents for the UCSB San Benito Student Housing project - a roughly 700,000 gross square foot new residential community - coordination with the Contractor for schedule-related items to ensure UCSB is compliant with all CEQA mitigation measurements and LRDP EIR requirements related to ground-disturbance monitoring of cultural artifacts, and attendance of preconstruction meetings to review the project schedule, safety, and requirements for monitoring during ground-disturbance activities. Responsibilities and services may also include: Soil Investigation, Subsurface Investigation, Sampling, Monitoring of Construction Activities, Coordination, Earthwork Conditions. Archaeological and Cultural Monitoring is to be performed as directed by the University's Representative and in coordination with the construction contract schedule. The construction contract schedule may include both day and night time construction activities. Monitoring will be required during ground-disturbance activities associated with the construction.
