Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a museum in Vidalia, Georgia. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a 2,000-square-foot museum; for the demolition of a museum; for the renovation of a museum; and for site work for a museum.
The City of Vidalia is seeking to renovate and build an addition onto the 1935 US Post Office building in downtown Vidalia to become the Vidalia Onion Museum. The existing building is part of our downtown historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is currently 5,495 sq ft and will need an addition of approximately 2000 sq ft of office space with a demonstration kitchen and deck at the rear. The building is owned by the City of Vidalia and overseen and operated by the Vidalia Convention & Visitors Bureau Authority appointed by the Mayor and City Council of Vidalia.
