Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; transportation facility; transportation facility; water / sewer project; and for outdoor lighting for a transportation facility.

Installation of a PCC apron to surround the new terminal, a PCC taxilane and PCC shoulders, a PCC VSR and HMA VSR, and GSE pavement. PCC thickness is 15.5 inches for the apron and taxilane, 10 inches for the taxilane shoulders, 10 inches for the PCC VSR, and 10 inches for the GSE pavement. HMA thickness is 4 and 5 inches for the HMA VSR. Total area of the apron, adjacent taxilane, and shoulder pavement is approximately 44,000 SY. Project also includes 2,070 LF of 15-60-inch storm sewer pipe installation, 7,800 LF of 6-inch PVC underdrain, 1,120 LF of pre-cast concrete box culvert, and 840 LF of linear trench drain. Other construction items include removal of existing apron and taxiway pavement, grading, retaining wall, aggregate base, drainable concrete base, airfield lighting and signage, markings, traffic control, and seeding/site restoration. Said Bonds shall be issued by a responsible Surety approved by the Des Moines Airport Authority and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the Des Moines Airport Authority from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the Contract. The Contractor is required to comply with wage and labor provisions and to pay minimum wages in accordance with the current schedule of wage rates established by the United States Department of Labor. The contractor shall carry out applicable requirements of 49 CFR Part 26 in the award and administration of this DOT-assisted contracts. Phase 1 construction has a start date of June 1, 2025, and a completion date of June 3, 2025. Phase 2 construction has a start date of June 4, 2025, and a completion date of February 28, 2026. Phase 3 construction has a start date of March 1, 2026, and a completion date of March 31, 2026. Phase 4 construction has a start date of April 1,2026, and a completion date of August 31, 2026. Phase 4A has a start date of May 1, 2026, and an end date of August 31, 2026. Phase 4A can be constructed concurrently with Phase 4. Phase 4B must be completed between the dates of April 1, 2026, and August 31, 2026. Phase 4B may be constructed any time within Phase 4 but must be completed within 30 days once started. Any batch plant paving required must be between the dates of May 1, 2026, and August 31, 2026. Phase 5 has a start date of September 1, 2026, and an end date of October 31, 2026. Phase 6 has a start date of November 1, 2026, and an end date of November 30, 2026.
