An invitation for Request for Proposals (RFP) is anticipated to be posted no later than April 28, 2025. The VA Medical Center American Lake Campus located in Lakewood, WA, has a requirement for a Firmed Fixed Price construction project that requires a general contractor to provide a wet fire suppression system for the occupied floors of the structure (Covered Patio, 1st and 2nd) and a dry fire suppression system for the unoccupied areas of the facility excluding crawl space. The new system shall provide an adequate back-flow prevention devices, position indicator valve, associated fittings, the addition of a two-inch isolation valve to the buildings main potable water service line, Fire Department Connection (FDC) point, and associated support as details are provided in the attached Drawings and Specs. Work will include asbestos and lead paint abatement. The new fire suppression system will be servicing approximately 6,000GSF spaces in Building 16. The magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The NAICS code for this procurement is 237110 and the size standard is $45 million.
