Bids received after the designated time will not be considered, and returned unopened. The Project generally consists of the following major items: 1. Supply and installation of 8-inch water main along State Route 20, including I-575 crossing. 2. Supply and installation of hangers and supports to attach 8-inch water main to the existing State Route 20 eastbound bridge. 3. Supply and installation all tie-ins of water piping. 4. Demolition, removal and disposal of all water piping and structures, as indicated on the drawings. 5. All associated civil/sitework, traffic control, piping, and structural work for the completion of the project. 6. A City allowance. Last Date for Questions: Thursday, March 20, 2025, 2:00 pm All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. The time allowed for Substantial Completion is 180 days, and the time allowed for Final Completion and readiness for final payment is 210 days from the date of commencement. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties approved by the CITY for faithful acceptance of the contract, payable to, in favor of, and for the protection of the CITY in an amount equivalent to five percent (5%) of the total amount payable by the terms of the contract or, in lieu thereof, a certified check, cashier's check, or cash in equal amount. The successful bidder will be required to furnish the necessary additional Bond(s) as described in the Bidding Documents. All Bids will remain subject to acceptance for 60 days after the day of the Bid opening, but CITY may, in its sole discretion, release any Bid and return the Bid security prior to that date. The CITY reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive informalities and re-advertise.
