Sanborn County Park is an approximately 3,500-acre park nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains between Saratoga and Skyline Boulevard. The project site is located to the south of Sanborn Road within the Core Use Area (CUA) near the main entrance of the Park. The project consists of various trail and accessibility improvements within the CUA. The project will provide improved access around the Core Use Area including reconstructed accessible paths, features, and site furnishings. The new trails will connect to the park's existing trail system and eventually connect to the larger regional trail system planned to come through the Core Use Area in the future. Proposed improvements at Sanborn Park include: New internal park road pedestrian crossings, approximately 1/2-mile of new asphalt pedestrian trails and 1/4-mile of reconstructed asphalt pedestrian trails, fourteen (14) additional vehicular parking stalls, six (6) reconstructed ADA accessible parking stalls with respective ADA signage and pavement markings, and trail connection improvements for the Costanoan and Sequoia staging areas New minor stone retaining walls, new split rail fencing, and two (2) reconstructed wood staircases with handrails Site furnishings including two (2) new accessible picnic areas, BBQs, electrical connections, and two (2) hydration stations New signage including interpretive, trail, ADA, and regulatory signage per the Parks Signage Manual As well as the following items necessary to implement proposed site improvements: Tree pruning, protection, and removals Grading and earthwork The project includes two (2) bid alternates: Natural turf restoration, including gopher wire mesh in select high-use lawn areas, and topdressing and reseeding of the remaining lawn Reconstruction of the Sequoia Petersen Group Picnic Site pavement, installation of new railings, accessibility and drainage improvements Contract duration: 210 days Question Deadline 03/24/2025 at 5:00 PM PT
