Sand Creek Drive has a retaining wall system called a Gabion Wall located on the south shoulder running from 56th Ave to 49th Ave. In summer of 2024, a drunk driver struck the Gabion Wall system near I-270 MP 2.70 damaging approximately 5 timber posts. Project 26650 will construct a soldier pile wall to repair the damaged Gabion Wall.
